Dear Governor Cuomo:

I demand a vote on the Reproductive Health Act (RHA) and Comprehensive Contraception Coverage Act (CCCA) during the 2018 legislative session in Albany, and I’m holding you responsible for achieving that outcome.

When you say, in the Women’s Opportunity Agenda, that “New York has a long and proud legacy of leading the way to advance women’s rights,” I see a Senate led by Republicans and the IDC that blocked the RHA and CCCA from coming to the floor.

When you say, “We’re coming for you, GOP,” I know how you helped to create the IDC and are instrumental in supporting its members.

When you say, “While the federal government seeks to roll back women’s rights, New York State looks toward the future,” I say that women in New York right now are stuck with an unconstitutional abortion law dating back to 1970. Efforts to fix it have failed year after year, with little support from your office.

When you say, “last year was a reckoning, and this year is the battle,” I say: “In 2018, I’m not so sure that you, Governor Cuomo, are truly on my side of the battle.”

Sincerely,

Your constituent
